The First Time I Worked With Coral Reefs

My introduction to coral reefs came nearly 30 years ago.  As a student research assistant at Enewetok atoll, Marshall Islands, I was seeing a beautiful, lush ecosystem for the first time.  The highly varied colors, textures, patterns and biological diversity have since become an area of great interest.  This attraction to coral reefs has had a great impact on my life.  Vacation destination choices and places to live have been influenced by my love of this biological community.  No matter where I am, the fascination and appreciation for this tropical wonderland is renewed each time I jump into the water for another visit!  I invite you to jump in as well!
