   Black holes are probably the most talked-about phenomenon in modern astrophysics. The idea of a point in space so dense that not even light can escape its gravitational pull is both frightening and fascinating. 
   Perhaps you’ve heard that a black hole is a gateway to a parallel universe if only we could travel safely through one. Perhaps you’ve heard the term "event horizon", the imaginary boundary beyond which space and time reverse roles and no object can ever return.
