Rhodospin is found only in rods. The difference in the cones is that Vitamin A combines with three different types of ospin, one for each primary color: red, green and blue. The pigements are more stable and selective than rhodophin. They only respond to certain wave lenghts of light. The abundancy of a certain pigement in a cone will determine the primary color the cone will specialize with. People who suffer from being colour blind have unblanaced amount of pigment.
