Comments: Teens may do better when they go to bed and wake up later, but it is the opposite for many older people. There are many teachers whose prime time for mental activity is in the morning as opposed to later in the day. Not only is it important for the learner's mind to be sharp when learning, but for the teacher's mind to be sharp as well.

Comments: i think that high school should start a little later than it usually does at 7:30 in the morning. kids usually sleep during the late hours of 11 and 12 in the morning. high school along with others should start at around 8:30, 1 hour later. This will insure that students get enough sleep and are awake and ready to focus on the day's lessons. well, thats how I feel about it. :)

Comments: Great site! It is very informative and easy to navigate through. I found the crossword puzzles to be really interesting! I believe that high schools should start a little later than they normally do. Everyday i have to leave my house at 6:30 in the morning and only get back house at around 5:45. Good luck at the contest! - Herndon, VA USA

Comments: I definitely think that high school should start later in the day...but then again, as a college student I never enrolled in a course that started before noon during all 4 years there... I don't think that "sleep" and "college" are necessarily two phrases that go hand in hand... Great web site, by the way! Very impressed!

Comments: I think you have done an excellent job on your webpage. I've had the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since a month before I started 1st grade in 1957. Sleep problems have been a chronic problem. One reason I became a professor was because I could have some control over when my day started. Usually my first class is at 9:30, which helps some. I've always had a very hard time functioning for class by 8 a.m. or even earlier at 7:30 a.m., which I had to do in high school and college. I do think high school should start later, as it does in Britain. I lived in Britain for 6 months when on sabbatical in 1994. I discovered the whole country was on an hour later schedule than the U.S. Much more civilized! I think colleges need to start later, too. For the last 25 years or more, the earliest class at my school was at 8:30 a.m., an improvement over most schools which start at 8:00 a.m. This semester we switch to a new schedule which starts with 8:00 a.m. classes. I question how many students will be really awake for them, especially those who commute.
