Mr. Donald W. Hyatt
Our coach from the U.S., Don Hyatt, has been the Director of the Computer Systems Laboratory at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, the a Virginia Governor's magnet school in the Fairfax County Public Schools system since its opening in 1985. He teaches Supercomputer Applications, Computer Architecture, Computer Systems Research, Mentorship in Computer Systems, and Computer systems laboratory activity period.
Mr. Hyatt worked with Emilie and got her started with a PERL tutorial and reference books suggestions, web sites to look at, and tips for the team to consider. He answered questions for team members.

* MS in Computer Science and Applications, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, 1985
* BS with Honors, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, in Biochemistry and Nutrition, Double Major in Horticulture with option in Food Science Technology, VPI&SU, 1969
* Art training from his late mother and grandfather, commercial artists

He enjoys doing creative and artistic activities whenever possible. His home page shares information about his personal interests in painting watercolor illustrations, gardening, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, his dog (Lucy), and his ThinkQuest coaching experiences.
