Zeus

The god of the skies, as well as the chieftain of all the other Greek gods. He was often depicted as an older gentleman with white/silver hair and a beard. As with most of the gods, he was portrayed as wearing a tunic. Zeus was the son of Rhea and Cronus. He was one of six children, including Hera, Demeter, Hestia, Poseidon, and Hades. Zeus led a rebellion against his father who had become a tyrant, and was proclaimed leader of the gods. During the rebellion the Cyclopes, whom Zeus had aided by saving the sons of Mother Earth, forged lightning bolts for Zeus to use in battle. This soon became one of his trademarks and weapon of choice. Zeus was said to have various affairs with mortals and gods alike and is the father of Athena, Ares, Hermes, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Dionysus, and Heracles among others.
