Geraint
Geraint was a knight of King Arthurs round table. He was out riding once with Queen Guinevere. They came across a knight who was rude when the queen asked him his name. Geraint became mad and followed the knight to a town where he disappeared. Geraint then stayed at an old poor mans house, who had told him where there was going to be tournament. He also informed him that the winner would get a sparrow - hawk. The same knight had now won two years in a row. He received the title "The knight of the sparrow-hawk". Geraint thought that he knew who the mystery winner was so he borrowed the old mans armor and took his daughter, Enid, to the tournament dressed beautifully. The mystery knight had already thought he had won when Geraint arrived and proclaimed "Here is a lady who is more beautiful than yours; she will get the sparrow-hawk." The knight became angry and flew towards Geraint. Geraint attacked and the knight fell to his knees begging for his life. Geraint made the knight beg Guinevere for her forgiveness. Geraint then married Enid. One day Geraint heard Enid say that he was not the man she had once loved, so he made her put on an old dress and follow him. Geraint was going to bring her out for adventures but he was in a bad mood the entire time. As a result he treated her badly and put them both in danger. He battled three giants and was close to death. He then heard Enid talk showing respect and love for him. This pleased him so he recovered quickly and they lived happily together.
