A build up of anxiety can
lead to depression and ultimately a bodily break down.

Physical pain makes us aware that there is something wrong somewhere. When we experience anxiety, nervousness and tension, our body/mind is trying to give us an emotional message that we need to give our emotions some attention because all is not well. A build up of anxiety can result in apathy, depression, frustration, irritability, etc. (refer to the "Impact of Stress Diagram") and ultimately, the body can respond by malfunctioning and breaking down (see section on biochemistry of emotions for an explanation of this on a molecular level).
