An expression used when something unexpected or sudden occurs.
Examples:
1. "The unexpected visit of my grandmother was a pleasant surprise."
2. "My friends taken by surprise, when they threw a party, to celebrate my birthday."

Surprise is also known as a positive emotion. Most people who experience surprise show these signs:

• dropped jaw, with mouth open
• lifted and curved eyebrows
• eyes, opened wide
• horizontal wrinkles spanning across the forehead
