Jason
Hi and thanks for visiting our web page! I live in wonderful
sunny San Diego, California, USA, America's finest
city!
I have participated in every ThinkQuest contest to date. In 1996 I was a finalist and in 1997 a semifinalist with Save Our Earth and Make a Difference. My 1998 project, Designer Genes, took third place in the Math and Science category (check out our finalist web page that I helped create) and I know that this project, LOL To Good Health, is my best yet!
This year I graduated valedictorian from Mt. Carmel High School and I will be attending Stanford University in the fall. I enjoy working with computers, and teaching others how to use them. I work with my school district (Poway Unified) to design school and classroom web pages, as well as to provide inservice to the teachers.

Math and science
have always been my strongest subjects; I was my school's recipient
of the Caltech Book Award. I had fun competing in the California
State and Regional Science Olympiad Competitions for 5 years now; I
took first place in "Surfing the Net" in the state! I was
the captain of the varsity Academic League team and I am a member
of the National Honor Society. Photography is one of my hobbies; I
recently won Best of Show in the local Del Mar Faire with one of my
photographs. As a Star Wars fan and Trekkie, I enjoy collecting
Star Wars & Star Trek memorabilia and playing computer games
(if I can find time!). When I need to slow down and unwind I love
to get away and enjoy nature and hiking. My family and I have hiked
many trails in the Rockies and in Western Canada. I am a Second
Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, as I have been in the martial
arts for 14 years now.
I wish to thank Advanced Network & Services for sponsoring this contest and giving me a means to help finance my higher education. Without their financial support, I would never be able to go to the university that I am going to attend, so thank you! At this time I would like to thank my family for their continued support when I work on my ThinkQuest project. Thanks mom for understanding why my room wasn't always clean during the ThinkQuest period. Thanks to dad and my brother for being so patient when I was hogging the computer. This year's ThinkQuest entry is an awesome project but required a lot of time - without my family's support and my team's good work and collaboration it would not have been possible. Thanks Eli and Lori! "May the force be with you & live long and prosper!"
