Hi, I'm Eli ! I live in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. I'm a 15-year-old student at Ballarat Secondary College, which is recognised as a Novell School of Excellence.
This is my first year competing in Thinkquest. One of my friends, Beth Abraham, introduced Thinkquest to me, after she came 3rd in the Interdisciplinary Category for her entry, Death an Inquiry Into a Man's Mortal Weakness, and got to go to LA for the finals. She was a fantastic help to me when I first started. Thanks!
She gave me a few contacts, to which I contacted and soon became a team member, with Jason. We searched for a third team member and after about a month or so of searching we came up with Lori! And what a great team I have!
I enjoy sports, and play netball, and volleyball. For the people who don't know what netball is, it's a primarily female sport…it's a lot like basketball, but you can't step or bounce with the ball, and the goal ring doesn't have a backboard. It's the most widely played female sport in Australia and New Zealand.
Eli and one of her friends, Melissa.
In my spare time I love listening to music, surfing the internet, and hanging around with my friends. I also play the clarinet.
I'd like to thank my family for helping me with Thinkquest, and especially my Dad, who has been a great help, supplying equipment for me. Thanks also to my brothers, and my Mum, for letting me take over the computer. Thanks also, to my school. Another big thanks to Kerry for being a BIG help, and an understanding coach. I, definitely would not have been able to do this project without the help of her, so thanks Kerry, I really appreciate it. And finally I would like to thank Jason, and Lori, for being a fantastic team to work with, and I'm really looking forward to meeting you in the '99 finals!
