The parts which make up an airplane are certainly complex; many systems which must work in tandem in order for the plane to fly safely and efficiently. Therefore, the work of those who design planes is very complex. Inside the design section, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the following systems:

  • Wings - with many features and designs wings can have, they are quite possibly the most complex part of an airplane.
  • Fuselage - there are tremendous forces acting on the body of a plane, and the fuselage must be able to stay structurally sound.
  • Tail assembly - at the rear of the plane, the tail assembly is largely responsible for maintaining the plane's direction.

Each component which goes into the overall construction of a plane has important, individual characteristics, and each has a valuable role it plays.
