DATA

Data is the primary reason for a computer to run. It is why we use the computer. To create, manipulate, and destroy data. When you talk to an electrical engineer about data, he is going to talk about analog and digital data. However, if you talk to an average computer user about data, he will refer to filenames and/or their extensions. Then, if you talk to advanced computer users about data, they are going to talk to you about ASCII characters or bytes.  Therefore, to prepare you for any conversation about data, it would be to your benefit to continue this tutorial.
