ROM
ROM or Read Only Memory is pre-set memory. This means the information on the chip is set by the factory before the user gets it. ROM chips are composed of transistors that are set in a permanent on or off positions (1’s or 0’s). Since ROM memory is permanent, the access time for the memory is very fast. ROM memory is often used for a computer’s BIOS.  Note: ROM is very expensive to design and manufacturer.
