Parallel
The parallel cable is used to connect the computer to a variety of devices. The list can span from your ordinary printer to a CD Writer. The parallel port is a slow port compared to some, but is the only port available to some devices. The parallel cable can be one-way, bi-directional, or enhanced. This applies the same as a street with cars on it. If it is one way, the cars can only go one way. Otherwise, a bi-directional road would have two-way traffic. Enhanced is a newer technology for the parallel port and allows it to be faster for more demanding devices.
