CMOS Battery
The CMOS battery is not a "RAM term", but is used along with a RAM
chip. The CMOS battery is used to keep the settings on the CMOS chip. Without
the battery, all of the user settings saved for the BIOS would be lost.
The CMOS battery usually lasts for a few years. The CMOS battery is located
directly on the motherboard and is usually held by a small metal clip.
Shown here is the CMOS battery.
Note: The CMOS battery is about .5" in diameter.
