Have you ever seen old floppy disks and/or old floppy drives. They
are significantly larger than their descendant, the 3½" floppy.
The old floppy drive was called a 5¼" floppy drive. The number in
front of the drive indicates the size of the disk inside of the floppy
coating. Contrary to the information common sense would lead you to believe,
actually, the larger disk holds the least amount of information.
