Graph Predictor Help

Contents

A labeled diagram of the graph predictor
The File Menu
The File Menu contains the exit menu item.  This exits the graph predictor and returns you to the main page.
The Edit Menu
The Edit Menu
The Edit menu allows the user to customize the graph predictor's graph.  The user has the option to create/delete points.  The user can change the windows/range of the predictor in a variety of ways.  Then, if they want to reset it all they can do so with Reset All.

New Point

The New Point Menu

New Point gives the user the option of adding new points to the graph.  The user can do this in one of two ways.  First, the user can pick the point on the graph ("Pick it on the graph").  Or the user can Define it with the exact values ("Define it with values").
Delete Point

The Delete Point Menu

The Delete Point menu item allows the the user to delete points on the graph.  The user can do the same as in new Point.  The point can be deleted by clicking on it on the graph.  Or they can define the point with the XY coordinates.
Window
Window allows the user to specify the windows setting for the graph. The user can set the Min and Max values for the graph.
Zoom In | Zoom Out | Zoom Standard
The user can Zoom In (using a real time selection box), zoom out, or zoom standard.  Zoom standard takes the graph back to the original windows values.
Reset All
Reset All allows the user to reset the current data that he or she is working with.  It changes it back to the default settings in place in the program.
The Type Menu

The Type Menu

The Type Menu allows the user to select the data set he or she wants to graph.  The check beside the items indicates the data set that is currently being used.
Note:  When the user changes the data set, all previous settings will be lost.
The Help Menu
The Help Menu gives the user an about menu item.  The about menu item tells the user who and what the program was developed for.
Message Bar
The Message Bar keeps the user up to date with what is or has happened.  The Message Bar also is used to relay information to the user.
Points
The colored squares in the graph window represent the points on the graph.
Axis Labels
The Axis Labels are representative of the tick marks they are under/beside.  The Axis Labels usually change when the window is resized.  The words beside the Axis indicate what that axis is representing.
Tips
  • If it doesn't work the first time try again.  Sometimes the graph predictor becomes backed up and is still processing a previous reaction.
  • When using delete and new point, if the first click doesn't work, click again.
  • If you would like to find out what a point is, just click on the graph window and the message bar will tell you the XY coordinates.
  • If the window isn't big enough, try resizing it.  The entire graph will resize and relabel itself.
  • Any additional questions may be referred to the programmer: Joseph.
