What do you think is the most important
component of the computer industry today?
The most important components of today's computer industry
are the ability to manufacture high quality, more complex components at
ever decreasing costs, i.e. memory chips are decreasing in size, increasing
in capacity and cost much less per byte.
If you could choose one important innovation for
the future surrounding computers, what would it be?
Important future innovations would be rapid, wireless communications
between computers & users.
What do you think is the most revolutionary invention
for the computer industry?
Most revolutionary invention of the computer industry is
the compact, high memory chip.
How do you see yourself involved in the computer
industry?
I am involved in the computer industry as a customer &
consumer of software features for which I have to buy a computer.
What do you think is the most important trend
to watch in the development of computers?
Important trends are flat display screens and wireless,
high speed data transmission.
What is your favorite aspect of today's technology?
Favorite aspect of today's technology is decreasing size
of computers, in creasing speed and easier to use software.
What would you refer to as the first "computer"?
I suspect a very early model was the one I used as a student
in college, an IBM 1620, 64k, took a whole room and used punch cards.
