Esther Dyson
Esther Dyson's is a famous author and visionary.  Mrs. Dyson is a key figure in making internet policies today.  She is well known for her book Release 2.0.  Esther Dyson enlightens us with her wonderful perspective on computers.

What do you think is the most important component of the computer industry today?

No single component, but the fact that it is all connected.  Openness that leads to universal connectivity has been a key feature helping the Internet to grow, and a key benefit of its ubiquity.
If you could choose one important innovation for the future surrounding computers, what would it be?
Wiser people using them!
What do you think is the most revolutionary invention for the computer industry?
The microprocessor, but again the industry is a collection of many parts.
How do you see yourself involved in the computer industry?
As someone who draws attention to deserving people, countries, products, and concepts that might otherwise go unnoticed.
What do you think is the most important trend to watch in the development of computers?
Their spread throughout the world and to less privileged people.
What is your favorite aspect of today's technology?
The entrepreneurs who create it (whereas a more politically correct answer would be the people who use it!). But I am very fond of the entrepreneurs who figure out how to make it useful!
Do you credit anyone in particular for leading the computer industry to where it is today?
No, lots of people.
Who do you think will be the prominent figures in the computer industry in the future?
Lots of other people! (many of whom are currently high-school students)
What would you refer to as the first "computer"?
Not worth arguing about.  When does life begin?
Do you have any further points of interest you would like to share to the readers?
Well, you could link to my site, www.edventure.com, and to the First Monday site, firstmonday.org.

ALL the best!
