To gain access to the NYSE you must acquire a ticket (tickets are free) at a stand located outside of the building on Broad and Exchange. The reason that the tickets are free is because the NYSE is a public place, so they are not allowed to charge for tickets. Also, there is no food, drinks or cameras allowed inside of the building.
