Adventures in the 31st century

While some people feared Futurama ment that Groening was moving away from The Simpsons, it doesn't seem to be that way. Matt Groening still seems very excited about the newest seasons of The Simpsons and Futurama. Futurama is more of an extension of The Simpsons yet different, different setting, cast, and story but still chock full of songs written by Alf Clausen and crew, celebrities poking full of themselves, and humor for all ages.

Fry, Bender, and Leela     The first season started in January and it became an instant hit with its witty humor, strange characters, and wacky(mmm... wacky) storyline. We are now introduced to Fry a basic loser during the 20th century with the chance to start it all over in the 31st, I'm thinking Bart during his 20s. We also meet Bender the beer guzzling, girder bending, robot who's head resembles a certain dad(d'oh if it wasn't intentional) and Leela the one-eyed, strong female that keeps the other two on the right track.

Futurama has already started expanding the population of New New York by adding reoccuring characters in the background. I'm also looking forward to new character sung songs, which they started putting in towards the end of last season, and eventually a CD ala Songs in the Key of Springfield(The Simpsons Sing the Blues was more music written for CD not music from the show). Also guest appearances started on the very first episode including the ever popular Leonard Nimoy.

Here is to at least 10 more years of The Simpsons and more seasons of Futurma!
