 About This Site
ThinkQuest

This site has been created for the ThinkQuest web page competition. ThinkQuest ® is an annual contest created by Advanced Network & Services, Inc. The purpose of the competition is to promote the Internet Style of Learning - an interactive, participatory style that encourages students to take advantage of the Internet as a constantly growing source of information and as a powerful collaborative tool. Awards totaling over $1,000,000 include college scholarships of up to $25,000 for each student member of a winning team. There is no entry fee. The web pages submitted must be created for educational purposes, and must meet all other contest requirements.

Our Topic

Genetic engineering, and the publics' understanding of it, is a very important topic, and one that may very well change certain aspects of life as we know it. We (ThinkQuest Team 25365) understood the importance of this subject, and wanted everyone to know about the dangers of genetic engineering and the benefits of organic foods. It is only fair to the general public that they know about genetic engineering, and are able to voice their opinions. A huge jump in biotechnology is taking place, and almost half of the US population doesn't even know what's happening. We felt that it was important to help everyone learn about what is going on, how it effects them, and what they can do so that they feel comfortable with the future of the food we eat. Like us, many people do not want to see GE giants, like Monsanto, controlling the agricultural industry, and we want to show them how to stop that from happening.

 TQ Team 25365
The team that brought you this site is composed of two sophomores, Alek Lisefski and Josh Meade. We both were interested in genetic engineering and wanted to know more. We both were involved in most aspects of the site, but if you had to break it down, Alek did more of the HTML, being more experienced, and Josh did more research (while learning HTML). We hope you found this site to be informative and interesting. If you think differently when buying groceries, and base your decisions on what you have learned, we feel we have done our job.
Thank You!

We would greatly appreciate any feedback, comments, suggestions or questions of any kind. The easiest way to contact us is to use our Feedback Form.
