What lies beyond the year 2000? Future Power
|
Zero-Point Energy (also abbreviation ZPE) is quite a strange type of energy. A vacuum is void of anything, right? Wrong. All the time particles are popping in and then disappearing out of a vacuum. The time that it takes for a particle to appear, then disappear is so small that it is impossible to try and capture this particle. However, the energy released by this popping in and leaving is large. Therefore, if we could harness the power of zero point energy, it would be an abundant source of energy. A lot of scientists, however, believe that zero point energy is just psuedoscience.
