lies beyond the year 2000? Millennium Bug

Y2K could cause many problems, including electricity being cut to cities, because the power plant's computer systems are unusable. Without electricity, even small things could not be done, even pumping petrol into your car at a petrol station uses electricity. Freezers and fridges would not work, so things like meat would become off very fast. Phone systems could go down and many, many other things that would turn it to an extreme problem. All the measures that are possible are being taken today to stop anything happening in the future. If all is done well, then there will be no, or very few problems.
