Modern Pentathlon

Parts

The modern pentathlon has 5 parts: 800 meters horse-riding, swordfencing, pistole-shooting 25 meters, 300 meters free stroke swimming and a 4km cross-countrywalk. That order is at each Olympics the same.
The points the participants can get was for 1956, that your rank is your point (number 1 = 1 point, 2 = 2 points, etc.). After that, the points are giving by an international table.

General

In 1912 was the 5th place for George Patton (USA), who became later on a very renowned general in the second World War. His points for the part shooting were in 1912 not so good...

Electricity by fencing

In 1976 was Boris Onischenko (USSR) disqualified, because he used an irregular weapon. He fiddled something, and his sword a hit registered even when his sword didn't hit his enemy. Some people think, that he cheated in the Olympics therefor (1× gold and 2× silver) too. In 1972 get this scandal loose, when he played against the Briton Jim Fox, against who he won in 1972.
