Shooting
Baron
The founder of the Olympics, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, was a very good shooter and that was (maybe) the greatest reason why shooting already a part of the Olympics in 1896 was. In the years that shooting was at the Olympic program, were the parts of shooting many times changed. In 1920 were there 21 parts and in 1932 only 2. In 1928 was shooting not a part of the Olympics, but since 1952 is it a standardization. In 1984 came 3 womenparts to shooting: sport pistole, free gun and airgun.
Grenade
Károly Tákacs, was in the 30-years European championshooter in pistole with a weapon in the rigthhand. By a militair excercise in 1938 exploded a handgrenade in his hand and he lost his hand with that accident. After the 2nd World War he defended his title and he won the gold medal (with his lefthand).
A denied OR
In 1956 won Gerald Ouelette (Canada) the part little gun (laying) with the maximumscore of 600 points. The record was denied because the way wasn't 50 meters but 48½ meters.
In 1972 won Ho Jun Li (North-Korea) the same track with 599 points. Someone asked him: "How hold you your concentration?" His answer was: "I imagine that I shot at a capitalist"
