There was added a new rule, to take care of the host city (that the organisation won't get shortages). So the result was Los Angeles (shouldn't get shortages).
The number of numbers were enlarged to 221, and there were 2 demonstration-sports (baseball and tennis). A demonstration-sport is that the sport is been held, but you cannot win a medal. So can the IOC know if the sport estimate, if it does, maybe the next Olymppics is it an Olympic sport whereby you can get a medal.
And just as normal, there was a boycott. At the very last moment, said the USSR and many Eastern bloc-countries that they didn't participate. Through this default was it a big influence for definited sports by the results. But the results were generally good.
The openings ceremony was a three hour enduring Hollywood-liking show, and there was immediately an event: Free Pistol 50 meter.
