When in May 1966 Munich the Olympics of 1972 got assigned, they started to build a beautiful sportcomplex. This everything on the ruin of World War . The total costs of these Olympics were valued at 300 million dollar.

At the morning of 5 September a group of Arabian terrorists, came in the quarters of the Israeli atheletes. 2 members of the Israeli repreentatives were shot dead and 9 others were imprison for debt. The West German police and the worldpress made a defenceline round the camp of athletes. After long negotiations might the terrorists with their hostages to the airport. There was tried to rescue the Israelis. That failed, and the consequence was that the hostages and some terrorists were dead. The next morning there was a funeral service and the Olympic Flag hung at half-mast, in the full stadium. After approbation of the Israeli officials were the matches resumed in the afternoon. In common, there was thought that the Olympics had to be proceed (here come the worldfamous word of (are only 2 times used, in Munich and in Atlanta): "The Games must go on."), though some athletes (under which Norwegians, Dutchmen and Philippines) leaved the Olympics. Of course, the Israeli team leaved the Olympics immediately.
