Amsterdam would organize these Olympics, but baron Pierre De Coubertin wanted that the Olympics of 1924 should be in Paris, because it was the thirtieth anniversary. And Paris could make up his faults of 1900. This year was proposed to build an Olympic village, but that didn't go on. Now the athletes had to be in cottages and sheds which lay about the stadium. This year were there 4 of the 5 losing countries of WW
, Germany didn't came, because Germany had a quarrel with France that time.
The countries which were for the first time at the Olympics were Poland, Romania, and Northern Ireland, which always combatted with Great Britain.
There was this year an International Jury d'Appel, because the many complaints about the juries in previous Olympics.
A French teacher had thought of the Olympic motto by these Olympics; Citius, Altius, Fortius (faster, higher, stronger). All the athletes showed that this year too, many records were broken.
This year was for the last time tennis and rugby at the program. All tennis-titles went to Wimbledon champions. At soccer was this year a special thing, for the first time won a South-American country: Uruguay.
