The Greeks wanted to organize always the Olympics in Athens. But through political and financial problems it couldn't in 1900 and 1904. Though baron de Coubertin didn't agree with the Greeks to hold the Olympics always in Athens, he agreed with that there had to be something to make the Olympic spirit better, because the spirit was make worse, through the last two bad Olympics.
He agreed with the idea to held between the Olympics a four-yearly meeting. The first from these Interim Olympics should be at the tenth anniversary of the modern Oltympics. There was decided that these Olympics should get the blessing of the IOC, but wouldn't count at the counting of the Olympics.
For the first time in 10 years were there much visitors at the Olympics. The stadium was filled to capacity, and the enthusiastic public did forgot faster some mistakes of the organization.
The team of the USA was now official. It wasn't anymore that in the USA the educational institutions, societies and individual athletes registered individual as the team of the USA. Now there was an approved team which was sended by the National Olympic Committee of the USA.
