After the st Olympics, Greece wanted to organize always the Olympics. But that didn't come off. 'de Coubertin' wanted to have the Olympics in France. Unfortunately he made the mistake to organize it then; it was more a tournament at the World-exposition. Through this there were almost no good competition-grounds, and no practiced officials.

After the Olympics; a lot of people saw through that they joined the Olympics.

At the track-and-field matches counted (suddenly) the qualifiers in the classification, through that Myer Prinstein got a silver medal, but he didn't join the final at Sunday (he didn't may because of his religion).

Small facts:

  • The biggest delegation: France with 880 men and 4 women!!
  • Alvin Kraenzlein had won the most parts at track-and-field: 60-meter run, 110-meter hurdles, 200-meter hurdles & jump- and throw-final silver.
