These Olympics had cost about 5 million dollar, the most of it came from the Italian football pool. But despite all fantastic provisions were there problems. Like the earlier Winter Olympics there was imported snow for a few numbers.
During the opening was gone something wrong. The last runner in the relay race with the Olympic flame, Guido Caroli (an Italian speed-skater), fell during his last round at the stadium, but fortunately the flame kept burning.
Norway had won since 1924 15 of the 18 ski-jumping-numbers. But Norway didn't had a man at the first six in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Finland had won the golden and silver medals, maybe through their new jump-technique.
