In 1936 were the Olympics of 1940 given to Sapporo. But because the Japanese-Chinese war began, they were given to Sankt Moritz. But there were problems between the leaders. The Olympics were in 1939 given to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. But in case of WW were these Olympics finally never held.
