After that the skating- and the ice hockey-numbers in 1908 and in 1920 were at the Summer Olympics, at last was decide to organize the Winter Olympics.
The Scandinavian countries found this a danger for their own North Games, so the name of the Winter Olympics was first 'International Winter sports-week'. But some years later, in 1926, got it the official title Winter Olympics.

The Olympic Oath was said through al the flag bearers. The one with the first golden medal at the Winter Olympics was Charles Jewtraw (United States), at 26 January at 500 meters skating. That was the earliest golden which was given to someone in an Olympic year.

There were only 14 golden medals. As demonstration-sports there was curling and a military patrol.
