Indeed! I had the same exact problem happen except I went from Windows 95 to Windows 2000! (Big jump!) Well anyways what I experienced was you couldnt go into "High Color" or "True Color", only "16 Colors" and "256 Colors" What I found out was my driver for my video card wasnt compatible with Windows 2000, so I had to downgrade to Windows 98 (which was still newer for me, since I had Win 95 before), and it worked after I installed the drivers. I would say either get a new video card, if the drivers aren't compatible with Win XP, or, search the web to find a download site for drivers for your video card, if it is somewhat new and there are drivers out there. If there aren't any drivers and you dont want to buy a new video card, then save yourself the hassle and money and just downgrade to Windows 2000 (if it is compatible) or back to Windows 98. I hope this helped!
