Full Screen Ad's Messing Up Computer

There have been 2-3 diff ads coming up on my screen. I used to push Ctrl-Alt-Delete and close it but it would mess it up and restart it, because any key you push brings up this little box that says something and has an ok button.
Now I have learned that I have to push Ctrl then push enter to close the little box, then Alt then enter to close it again, then finally push Delete and then close it out. It doesn't mess it up or restart when I do that. But earlier today all three ad's popped up and I had to do the step-by-step process for all three of them.
Does anyone know what the problem is? My home page address keeps changing on it's own too.
