ok, to fix this if your monitor is not hosed, boot it into "safe mode"...  right click on my computer & select properties - click device manager tab...  find display adapter & open it by clicking the "+"...  remove the adapter - close & reboot...  when system comes up it should just load the correct video adapter - if it cant find it you will need a disk - probably will not be the case.  once correct adapter is loaded you can change res and color by going into the display settings.
