Computer problem

I usually can fix a problem or it's broken. Well this is obviously just broken but it's happened so many times.

Back towards sometimes before Christmas I started to build my cousin a computer. It was nothing but disastors from then on out. I actually never got it up and running and thats from 3 motherboard replacments and 1 processor replacement. Basicly it was taken to a store and it was fuddled around with and I got it back, when I tried to reformat it and put XP on it, it f-ed up again. Since then the system has done the same thing 3 times (the most recent being just now) and the last two times resulted in a motherboard replacement.

Basicly what happenes is that it stops booting for no reason and says it needs to boot from the cd - come to find out that the hard drive no longer reports data and on some reboots isn't even the right size (80GB to 10GB). Now I know motherboards die, but this machine has run through them like candy and I'm at my wits end for telling my cousin what to do. I mean this is obsured that it just plops and dies like this. The last mothersboards have been AOpen. I originally started with a Gigabyte and went through 2 and then tried an MSI. Hard drive was an IBM (but it apparently died) and now it's a Western Digital. It has actually ran and for a period of about a month this time and the last time. Generally the same sysmptoms occur each time - first the performance goes south some and then it just does this

If anyone can give me some advice or point me in a direction to get it, I'd appreciate it much. Thank you much!

Please reply or e-mail me.
