Acne

Acne is caused by overactive oil glands on your skin. Many girls think that they are ugly because they have pimples, but everyone goes through it, and all you can do is to try to lessen it's effects. Contrary to what many people will tell you, chocolate, nuts and pizza do not necessarily cause acne, although research shows that acne's intensity varies with an individual's sensitivities to certain foods. You can't stop acne from coming, but you can reduce its effects. The best way to do this is keep your face clean. If you have mild acne, the best thing to do is to wash your face with soap and water two to three times a day.

Some teens have very dry skin. Dry skin can be caused by a lack of certain vitamins such as A and B2. You can easily correct this by changing your eating habits to include foods that have these vitamins, or by taking supplements. You can also help dry skin by moisturizing it with lotion that will protect your skin from drying out.

Your skin can also become irritated from overuse of cosmetics. Cosmetics can clog your pores and encourage the growth of acne. You can prevent this by thouroughly removing makeup at the end of the day and making sure that your face is extra clean before you go to sleep at night.

If acne becomes serious, a doctor or dermatologist should be contacted. Physicans can prescribe medicine that can help control acne.
