Turkey is truly a melting point of many different civilizations and cultures. A multitude of ethnic, religious, and cultural elements are abundant throughout Turkey, creating an amazing heritage which the Turks are proud of. However, with this culture and heritage, there is much that Turkey needs to protect. Turkey's future appears to be positive though, and with less war than the futures of many of the neighboring countries. In future years, it is probable that Turkey will be able to keep up its peace operations in Cyprus and suppress the Greeks from trying to take northern Cyprus. Conflicts between Iran and Turkey seem to be waning as well, as peace talks continue throughout August of 1999.
