China's history dates back thousands of years, with dynasties
and an amazing amount of culture. This culture and history is still
alive today. Even as the country reaches a peak in the age of
technology, amazing stories of China are still recalled and remembered.
However, much of China's past does not deal with the culture and beauty
of the land. China has been engulfed in interior political strifes and
other problems for centuries. Only now is it beginning to tone down.
As with most countries, China has had periods of intense battles and
bloodshed, with war and destruction all around. What makes China's
history devastating is the fact that much of this conflict has taken
place between the Chinese; between the moderates and the liberals, or
the Communists and the Kuomintang party. This political strife has
occurred for many reasons; a division in the beliefs of the people of
China, corruption in the government, and a lack of control over the
occurrences in the country.
World powers such as Germany, France, England, and Russia have, in the course of China's
history, taken control of certain parts of China and forced the Chinese
to sign unfair treaties.
Now, close to the 21st century, China is finally beginning to be
able to take control and create a thriving country. Its unique culture
has remained, but much of the past bloodshed and strife can now be put
aside. With a rising economy and a booming population, China is coming
up in the world.
