Our Mission
Serious issues, many times meaning either life or death, are
affecting hundreds of people around the world. Likewise, there are
also hundreds of students who sit ignorant and without an understanding
of the issues that affect them every day.
This site is for both of these groups, and for all people who wish
to gain a better understanding of the relations between nations.
Learning and understanding these issues is a vital key to living in
this world. So many students sit uncaring and unaware, and our purpose
is to help ignite a flame in their hearts, a flame of desire to care,
to learn, and to understand. It is created to offer a place of
learning for all people, to educate them, not in boring facts, but in
thought-provoking, inspirational articles that leave room for them to
decide on their own. They will meet families, who have struggled to
live through times of oppression, death, fear, and war, but who have
stood strong, and have so many enlightening stories to tell. They will
immerse themselves in our forums, and interact with students from
around the globe. In doing so, they have the priceless opportunity to
gain an understanding, broadening both their perspectives and horizons.
It is hoped they will be instilled with lessons of life and an
understanding of what befalls us. It is then that they can go on and
give the same gift to others.
Our Technology
We had a great opportunity to bring together our individual talents,
differences, and technology access to create our entry. There was a
great difference between each of our access to technology.
The three of us came from a variety of schools and . Jeffrey,
attending a large public school in Windsor, CT, had access to a broad
range of equipment, which he was able to pull from and benefit the
collaboration of our project. Katrina came from a smaller, more rural
school system, and although she had access to fair amount of
technology, the level was not as high in advancement and quantity as
that of Jeff.
On the other hand, Jocelyn worked from a home school environment. This
was one of the biggest differences in our technology access, as she
worked from one computer, with that as her only computer access, as
well as a scanner.
Our differences in technology access provided for an opportunity to
pool all of our different resources in designing our entry. It was a
wonderful learning experience to combine our sources and benefit from
each other's contribution.
