  1. Turn down the heat and turn off the water heater before you leave.

  2. Carry reusable cups, dishes, and flatware.

  3. Make sure your trash doesn't end up in the ocean... don't litter beaches.

  4. Don't pick flowers or keep wild creatures for pets... leave plants and animals where you find them.

  5. Don't buy souvenirs made from wild or endangered animals.

  6. Watch out for wildlife... give consideration to all living things you see crossing the road.

  7. Build smaller campfires, and make sure they're completely out before you leave.

  8. Stay on the trail... don't trample fragile undergrowth.
