Developing Countries/Regions
- India
Much of the worlds poverty today can be seen as a
result of low levels of economic and human development. Such
setting paints a picture of a third-world country like India.
- Southeast
Asia
Asia has been struggling with poverty for decades and as
the crisis erupted in the closing years of the millenium, the
problem has further entrenched itself into the roots of
society.
- Latin
America
Latin America has managed to survive the aftershocks sent by the
Asian Crisis and with a regional GDP of 81.6 billion, the Americas
are economically stable. On the other hand, do these numbers really
translate stability?
- Africa
Africa serves as a home for 686 million people and a
spectacularly unique blend of wildlife. Unfortunately, Africa's
diversity created conflicts that led to the detriment of it's own
holistic growth.
Industrialized
Countries/Regions
- United States
The US is considered to be one of the richest countries
in the world, but underneath such stature of wealth and affluence,
there is still a good number of people living in poverty.
- Japan
Japan, through all these years, has held the distinction
of being the most technologically advanced country in Asia. The
worlds second-largest economy, ironically, is now going
through one of the worst economic disasters. (Asian Economic
Crisis)
- Europe
Europe is facing a period of change. With the eve of a
new and united European community, the economy of this rich region
is certainly undergoing massive transition.
