The Streetcats Foundation was
established not to capture stray cats along the streets and give them a home like what the
SPCA does in Singapore. Instead, this organization caters to homeless children and those
helpless teens wandering the streets.
The Streetcats Foundation began its mission in 1988. From its humble
roots, it grew to a non-profit corporation in 1991 and finally into a tax-exempted 501C3
organization California Public Benefit corporation in early 1993. Its work ranges from the
streets of New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Streetcats Foundation staff, working in their well-known blue and yellow
colored jeeps, capture teenagers who are addicted or abused. These are the youths that
other counselors, police and probation officers had given up on. But with the help of
time, effort and love, Streetcats have worked miracles in piecing the lives of these teens
back together.
Even though supported with little incentives and much government and
police apathy, they were still able to achieve extraordinary results.
