This website talks about poverty in the Philippines and how it compares to other regions in the world. It covers factors such as the people involved, causes of poverty, results and possible solutions. Furthermore, there are also first-hand anecdotes from people who have seen poverty and lesson plans for teachers.

The first section of the site shows various people under poverty. People such as rural farmers, fishermen, street children and the urban poor are some examples of common victims. There will be brief essays that will discuss their lifestyles and culture. The second aim of the site will be a case comparison to other countries around the world and how they fair against poverty. This diversity uncovers reality that poverty comes in different forms.

Thirdly, the possible causes of poverty will be discussed. Topics will range from basic economics to cultural differences within the given society. Furthermore, another section is devoted on the results arising from such causes. Matters like malnutrition, child labor and prostitution will be explained.

Besides the features mentioned above, the website includes narrations of people in poverty. There are also some programs like Banlaw, where students from the Ateneo High School live with urban poor families for a week, and other programs that are touching and heartwarming. There is also a teacher’s section in the website, which comprises of an instructional tour and teacher notes.

Lastly, there are multimedia and interactive sections in the site to give more depth and explanation about the matter.
