In 1963, the British
biologist J.B.S. Haldane is credited to have coined the
term "clone" in a speech
entitled "Biological Possibilities for the Human
Species of the Next Ten-Thousand Years." Even
though many scientists had described, and even completed
the cloning process by this time, the term
"cloning" had never been used to describe such
