Search Engines
Search engines are commonly referred to web sites that search through web sites in their database that match a few words you type in. Smaller search engines can also be found on the web such as the one that is available on this site which searches the documents on our site for words that match what you are looking for.
Below are several links to search engines on the Internet:

AND OR?
With certain search engines, you may be given the option of using "AND" or "OR". These options are called booleans. Using "AND" will display documents which contain all of the words you searched with. Using "OR" will display documents that contain one or more of the words you search with.
Insensitive, Sensitive?
You may also be given the option of choosing whether your searches are case sensitive or insensitive. Case sensitive searching means that if you search for the phrase "web" it will not bring up matches that say "WEB" as it must match exactly. While case insensitive searching for the phrase "web" would indeed bring up matches that say "WEB".
