ABOUT THIS SITE

Our primary goal in designing this site was to provide students and teachers with an online resource dedicated to the study of English literature.

Production of this site began in May of 1998 as soon as we had our team assembled. Team Leader Mike Traeger introduced the team and started correspondence. A few mock pages were thrown together and colors and graphic themes were decided. With this decision out Technical designer set to work on the site layout. Close communication was kept up between all team members as the site Editors worked on compiling lists of works and their authors. The final lists were assembled and the task of writing was divided up by mid-June. Potential lapses of communication during members' vacations were avoided through the use of laptop computers. A wide variety of communication software was used including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Juno, ICQ, and America Online. Other software used in the production of this site includes Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Microsoft Front Page, and WS FTP LTE. The month of August was definitely the busiest month. Write-ups were flying in for conversion and uploading to the site. Mike Traeger and Sarah Martin submitted all write-ups to each team member for approval and then the final copy was sent to Mike Ross who applied the file to a template for uploading. Thanks to the sophisticated communication technology of the Internet, team members never needed to ever physically meet. All online discussions were via email or hosted through ICQ.

Michael Traeger - Team Leader / Site Editor

Michael Traeger is a freshman at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Johns Hopkins' Talent Search and the National Library of Poetry have recognized him for his excellence in both literature and writing. In addition, Michael has won various contests and awards for his compositions. He has performed in various theatrical shows (vocal and acting) and has produced two of his own works. Michael served as assistant editor to his school paper and as prose editor to the creative magazine. For nearly a year he held the position of Choral Editor for America Online's Extreme Culture. In his non-existent free time, he enjoys to read, play baseball, and get himself involved in more activities.

Sarah Martin - Assistant Editor

Sarah Martin is a senior at Blue Springs South High School, in Blue Springs, Missouri. During her high school years she has participated in varsity sports, theatre, forensics, Spanish club, and Odyssey of the Mind. During her free time she played fastpitch softball as a pitcher for 10 years, and in 1995 her team placed 13th in the nation. She doesn't have any free time anymore. She will graduate in January, 1999, and intends to attend Truman State University that same month, hopefully to continue with graduate school at MIT, if she does her homework. In college she plans to study Computer Sciences, and major in computer programming. She has also participated and recieved awards in art and many other contests. She has a notably small long term memory, and can't remember what else she ever did.
